The Dancers
Yael Tal
Yael started dancing to
western techniques from a very young age.
Her passion for dance got her to tour the world and find the dance
of different cultures and found the classical Indian dance most
fascinating.
In Bangalore she trained in Kuchipudi style under the guidance of
Guru Vyjayanthi Kashi.
Today, on an ICCR acholarship, Yael continues her Indian dance
training, as well as performing with the Shambhavi Dance Ensemble
occasionally.
While in Israel, she Introduce this special style to the people of
her birth country.

Mayala
Mayala was
born in Israel and moved to the UK in 1993 when she started her
Kathak training with Sushmita Ghosh. She performed widely in the UK
and abroad as a solo artist and in dance companies.
Mayala is also a member of Aakriti Dance Company, London with who
she appeared in Sah and Afsane.
Her other performances include the Rosary with
Kathak Collective Janak with Alpana Sengupta Dance
Company, Holding The Time with Numac, Athma
with Watermans Arts Centre and 'Whirlwedust with
Disco Sister Dance Theatre Production and Dwija
with Abhi Dance.
Mayala has been teaching regularly since 1997 in Brighton, Essex and
London and in 1999, she created her first choreographic work
the life of Meera Bai performed at the Brighton Festival.
At the beginning of 2003, Mayala has spent 3 months of intense
training in India sponsored by the Art Council of England
and at the present moment she is based in Zagreb, Croatia.
